Science village to be set up in Tripura

Tripura government has decided to set up a science village at Dukli block at the outskirts of the capital city which would in miniature form of Science City in Kolkata, with National Council for Science Museum (NCSM) coming to its aid.

"NSCM has okayed our Rs 62-crore project of setting up of a Vigyan Gram or science village which would have the facilities to see the 3D shows on Earth exploration, Space application, solar energy, evolution and adaptation of human and a bird sanctuary," Tripura Science Technology minister Bijita Nath told reporters.

"We have completed Detailed Project Report (DPR) and foundation stone of the science village would be laid soon. Setting up of such a village would help disseminating science awareness among the people, mostly the students", she added.

Tripura State Council for Science and Technology (TSCST), an autonomous body under the state's government's science, technology and environment department is the nodal authority to look after the management of the proposed science village, which would be a regional level science hub.

"The science village will have a museum, planetarium, botanical garden, library, heritage park, bird sanctuary, aquarium, auditorium, children's park and a laboratory." Nath said.

The place for the village is beautiful. There are hillocks and many small valleys where lakes would be dug and boating facilities would be extended.It would also have an exhibition zone, educational demonstration arrangement, playing zone for children and science book stalls.

"We have acquired 12.5 acres of land in the Dukli block, about 8 k.M from here and the entire project would be completed by three years time, but people would be able to enter into the village when the first phase of it is completed," she added.

The science city is being developed basically to create awareness and interest among the students and youths about the utility of science and create a scientific outlook and encourage research works.

CPI(M) rejects demand for separate state dividing Tripura

Agartala: Ruling CPI(M) on Monday rejected the demand for a separate state within Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) raised by Indigenous Peoples Front of Tripura (IPFT) as "divisive and a conspiracy to divide the state."

The IPFT, a breakaway faction of the Indigenous Nationalist Party of Tripura (INPT), submitted a memorandum to the Governor of Tripura on Saturday last to press for the demand.


"This demand is divisive and a conspiracy to divide the state where the tribals and non-tribals are living in peace. IPFT is a mask of the insurgents which is active to fuel the extremism in the state," CPI(M) state secretary Bijan Dhar told newsmen.

Stating that CPI-M would resist this demand politically, Dhar said Congress and its electoral ally INPT should clear their positions to people if they supported the demand.

People of the state would reject any issue related to divide the state and had any relation with insurgency, he added.

Tripura tribal body submits memo to PM

 AGARTALA: The Indigenous Peoples' Front of Tripura (IPFT), a Tripura-based tribal organization, has stepped up its demand for carving out a separate state comprising tribal-dominated autonomous district councils (ADC) in the state.

About 5,000 people, including women, from different parts of the state organized a rally to Raj Bhawan where they submitted a memorandum to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh through governor Devanand Konwar.

While addressing the gathering, IPFT leaders criticized the role of the ruling Left Front government over lack tribal development in the state. They demanded elevation of the ADCs to a state where about 33 per cent people are tribals.

They also expressed their solidarity towards the movement for separate states in Assam and West Bengal. IPFT president N C Debbarma alleged that tribals in Tripura have no other option but to resort to an agitation to accomplish their demand for self-development.

Justifying the demand for a separate state, he said unless the ADCs are given the status of a state, the tribal people in the state would always remain deprived.

"Had the ADCs been funded directly by the Centre the pace of development of the tribals would have been much better," Debbarma said.

He alleged the present ADCs constituted under the Sixth Schedule of the Constitution has failed to safeguard the culture, tradition, language and land of the Indigenous people.

In another development, the Nationalist Party of Twipra (INPT) called a public meeting against the demand for a separate state on Wednesday. On Thursday, INPT's student wind, Twipra Students Union also protested against the creation of any separate state. At a Buddhist convention on Thursday CM Manik Sarkar expressed concern over the separate state agitations across the country and urged Buddhist monks to help youth stay away from such movements.

Many products no longer show where they were made, only give where the distributor is located. The whole world is concerned about China-made “black-hearted goods”.

Can you differentiate which one is made in Taiwan or China ? The world is also concerned about GMO (Genetically Modified Organism) foods; steroid fed animals (ex: 45 days old
broiler chicken). It is important to read the bar code to track its origin.

Is Tipraland the only last step for our survival???

With the announcement of Telangana, various community of India got fresh oxygen to fight for the homeland, an aspiration that will uplift their community and status in India, a country where only the voice of Majority, high class, and wealthy business community is heard. With the creation of Telangana, a ray of hope had reached to the corner of Indian state Tripura for the creation of Tipraland, to save the indigenous community from refugee Bangladeshi who were taking all the advantage of development depriving the local community. Tripura is India's third smallest state with an area-10000 s.km. However the new Tipraland would be around 7000 s.km ¾ of the total which is also present Autonomous district council of Tripura (TTAADC). 

Right from the beginning Tripura joining with India, there is a section of local communities (Tripuris, Manipuris, Muslim) who were unhappy with the decision of the Queen Maharani Kanchan Prabha Devi to join ‘Republic of India’. Their main concerns were the non-native Hindu Bengali's who were infiltrating to Tripura, will take over them in term of administration & policy-making. This is what actually happen today from CM post to all other administrative post is filled by Hindu Bengali Refugees.

Sources had found that before the Death of Maharaja Bir Bikram Manikya want to join India, was a baseless allegation. He wanted to give more power to the citizen not to join India. However after his death, his decision & dream was not fulfilled by royal members. Instead they thought to join India. It also may be for the safety of the family as well as money that will be provided to the royal family as allowance, also power in politics if they joined the Indian Congress. 
The royal families has been to political power including Home minister post to MP, however instead of solving the refugee problem, they encouraged them by giving land & property. Who can forget the shameless act of permitting ‘land cooperatives’ like the Swasti Samity in north Tripura’ to Bengali refugees removing the Reangs from their ancestral home. Such an wicked think has happen under the leadership of congress & royal family who were under congress government in Tripura. Because of vote bank, this actually happen in our state.
The policy was latter adopted by educated Tripuris as vote bank. When Indian government try to replaced few Bengali refuges into Rajasthan to maintain the majority status of Tribal's in Tripura, Dasharath Debbarma & co. did Fasting with the slogan ‘Pahari-Bengali bhai bhai’ and India govt. had to stop the idea of replacement. Thinking to form a Left govt. in Tripura with the help of Bengali refugee vote bank, Dasharath finally win the election-1978, however the irony & pondering of ‘pahari-bangali bhaib hai’ theory failed when Dasharath Debbarma was not given the CM post. Leading to sharp fall out of CPIM power in next general election under the leadership of Nripen Chakarborty after losing vote from the Indigenous community who were upset after not seeing Dasharath Debbarma as chief minister whom they considered as ‘crown-less king of Tripura’. In 1993 CPIM win the election after Dasharath was announced for the post of CM, though they won the election & Dasharath become CM, the scar from the heart didn't heal and there had always been difference between Tripuris & Bengali's, communal clash, higher insurgencies etc etc. the only reason was refugees can’t be trusted any more.

With the policy of changing names of historical places, hills & rivers, villages & towns, encroachment of ADC land, and finally giving out land to non-tribal’s in ADC area under forest right bill-has brought more non-confidence to the indigenous people forcing them to demand a separate homeland for their survival who constitute only 1 million of the 3.7 million population(31%). Thus I think another 3000 s.km is a free gift to Refugees…!
India has never thought for the welfare of North-Eastern states in the past or Present. this is the reason why they give land to Bangladesh ‘chakhla-rasanabad’ part of Tripura, no strict rule for Bangladesh refugees neither in any part of northeast India. If India had been controlling it chakhala-rosanabad, neither the Bengalis had been to be refugee. Also no Bengalis has right to clam themselves as ‘people of Tripura kingdom’. If they had considered it before, they could have been objected while ceding from Tripura to Bangladesh then Pakistan. Their mind was wicked during those time, they want to form a Bengali speaking Nation, doesn't want to be controlled by a tripuri king, this could be the actually answered is..!However after forming Islamic Bangladesh country, they were kicked out from their homeland, and took refugee to Tripura and now they want people to considered them as ‘Tripurabashi’ which is unacceptable at all…!!!!!
If Tripura is divided one can’t forgive India-Royal family-CPIM and all other party who only want to dominate the indigenous people for their vote bank….!

Can anyone tell we will have fair future in Tipraland, that their won’t by Insurgency, no fight for ADC among Reang, Tripura, Jamatia groups..! Things will be more worse than now, people will feel safe to stay outside Tipraland, like the manipuris of Manipur, who can never solved out problems with the hill Nagas & kukis. Bandh-extortion-killing is what everyday happen in Manipur.

If we got Tipraland all natural product such as Gas, Rubber and forest products will come into Tipraland, including the Industrial area, thus development can be assured, but can you believed our corrupted Indigenous leaders for better Tipra? Example Jarkhand & Chatissgarh.

Will there be full swing development such as setting up school & colleges? ADC doesn't have many..!

CM post alone can’t give us power, its development that can boost our living status. Is there anyone who really loves to work for the people?

CPIM tribal leaders are equally responsible for present situation. If they had pressured for more power to ADC such situation never had been arises. But all those members are dumped robot worker of Bengali leader.

We can still come-up with more power to ADC. Such as creation of ADC education Board, universities, direct fund from center, power to ADC area on Natural Resources that fall under ADC area, tourism Department etc. ADC has lots of power, the only reason we can’t see the actual power is be caused of our corrupted leaders. That’s the reason behind it. It’s the money they speak & worked for, even Tipraland won’t serve any benefit if this corrupted leaders exist in our system.
